On Saturday, April 27, approximately 20 volunteers planted trees along Tanglefoot Lane. Approximately 29 trees were planted, staked, mulched, and watered. In addition to the plantings, 12 trees, which were planted by a contractor last year, were staked, mulched, and watered. These trees are along Tanglefoot Lane on the east side of 18th Street and another 36 trees along Hopewell Avenue.

The Trees Are Us committee also provided two crab trees that were planted on Friday, April 26 at the newly renovated Bettendorf High School campus in honor of Arbor Day. Mayor Bob Gallagher read the Arbor Day Proclamation and School Superintendent Schulte along with a number of school district staff and students attended and participated in the ceremony.

Bettendorf was recently named a Tree City USA for the 17th consecutive year.
