On Sunday, September 20 beginning at approximately 1:00 a.m., the Bettendorf Police Department began receiving calls in regards to a group of subjects throwing rocks at cars in the area of Devil’s Glen Park entrance off of Devil’s Glen Road by the Duck Creek bridge and bike path. There were five to seven subjects described as white males in their late teens wearing sweatshirt hoodies.

Throughout the morning of September 20, there were (12) more calls/incidents/reports of criminal mischief that occurred just to the north in and around the Deerbrook housing edition. The following is a summary:

3700blk Deerbrook Dr. – driver’s side mirror broken (parked on street)

3700 Deerbrook Dr. – right rear tire slashed

1800blk Streamside Dr. – tire flattened (parked in driveway)

3500blk Deer Trail Rd. – bottle thrown at vehicle, glass in driveway

1700blk Streamside Dr. – brick through windshield of Corvette (parked on street)

1800blk Streamside Dr. – rear driver’s side tire flattened, dents in bed of truck/one on each side (parked in driveway)

3800blk Deer Trail Rd. – 4 tires flattened (parked on street)

3700blk Deer Springs Dr. – planter knocked over/signs ripped out of neighbor’s yard

900blk Devils Glen Rd. – mailbox damaged

In the early hours of September 21, there were (13) incidents of criminal mischief in and around Deerbrook.  The following is a summary:

  • 1:06 a.m. – Devils Glen Park entrance/Devils Glen Road –  5-6 subjects throwing rocks when cars drive by, late teens, seen running under the bridge under the bike path, “all looked like white males wearing hoodies and some wearing hats”
  • 1:19 a.m. – 3600blk Deer Trail Road – group of kids outside this residence that just threw something at the neighbor’s car, made a loud noise, 6-7 juveniles, all are wearing hoodies, headed towards Devils Glen Rd.
  • Approximately 1:30 a.m. – Devils Glen/Deer Trail Road – someone threw a mailbox at her car when she was southbound on Devils Glen Rd., damage to the car, kept the mailbox, thrown from west side of Devils Glen Road.
