POSTED: December 12, 2015 12:36 a.m.

On December 11 at approximately 8:15 p.m., Scott Emergency Communication Center received a call of a disturbance in the 2300 Southview Drive. When officers arrived on scene they heard shots fired from inside the home.

At the same time, there was a basketball game at Bettendorf High School. For the safety of the people attending the game, the school was on lock down until approximately 9:20 p.m. Those attending the game were allowed to leave after the game was over.

For approximately three hours, officers tried to make contact with the individual inside the house by using a PA system and phone. At approximately 12:17 a.m., a 30 year old white male surrendered without incident to police and was taken into custody. There were no injuries.

The Scott County Sheriff’s Department, Iowa State Patrol, Davenport Police, and the Scott County mobile command unit assisted Bettendorf Police.

The incident is still under investigation.
