Snow Emergency Issued Beginning Febuary 1

The National Weather Service is predicting a major snow event within the next two days.  Because of the chance of significant snow accumulation, the mayor has issued a snow emergency for the City of Bettendorf beginning on Tuesday, February 1, 2011.  The City of Bettendorf is encouraging residents to remove their vehicles from all city streets.  If vehicles cannot be removed, residents should follow on the odd/even system of parking until the snow emergency has been lifted. 

 

Beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 1, all streets where parking is allowed on both sides, vehicles must be parked on the odd address number side of the street.  

 

Beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 2, all streets where parking is allowed on both sides, vehicles must be parked on the even address number side of the street.  

 

On streets where parking is permitted on one side only, vehicles must be on the side where parking is allowed only on odd days of the month until 7:00 a.m. the next day.   Parking will not be allowed on the even days of the month.

 

This will continue until the snow emergency has been lifted.  The City will notify residents when the snow emergency has been cancelled.

 

Any vehicles parked where not permitted during the snow emergency, may be towed and/or receive a $25 fine.
