City of Bettendorf Hires Two Police Officers

SUBJECT: City of Bettendorf Hires Two Police Officers

 

 

BETTENDORF - Over the past week, the City of Bettendorf hired two police officers.

 

Officer Cristina Thomas was sworn in by Mayor Bob Gallagher on Thursday, April 26.  Officer Thomas has six years of law enforcement experience with the Iowa State University Police Department and Davenport Police Department.  She is a graduate of the University of Iowa with a B.A. in Political Science.

 

Officer Bob Welch was sworn in by Mayor Bob Gallagher on Friday, April 27.  Officer Welch has 11 years experience with the 339th Military Police Company, reaching the rank of Captain.  He also has eight years with the Davenport Police Department and four years experience with the U.S. Department of State Diplomatic Security Service, Washington, D.C.  Officer Welch is a graduate of Western Illinois University with a degree in Law Enforcement. 

 

Currently both officers are assigned to the field training program within the Bettendorf Police Department.
