Littles with Law Enforcement Holiday Shopping Event

POSTED: November 27, 2017

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley (BBBS-MV) has partnered with the Bettendorf Police Department and Walmart for the inaugural “Littles with Law Enforcement” holiday shopping event. On Sunday, December 3, at 2:15 pm, approximately 10 Bettendorf Police Officers will be matched with approximately 20 BBBS “Little Brothers” at the BBBS-MV office, 130 W. 5th Street, Davenport.

At approximately 2:30 pm, Police Officers and Little Brothers will head to Walmart, 3101 W. Kimberly Road, Davenport, to participate in a shopping event. Each Little Brother will be given a $75 gift card to purchase holiday gifts for family members. They will also get to shop with a uniformed police officer. This is the first of hopefully many “Bigs in Blue” events between BBBS-MV and Quad City Law Enforcement agencies.

After the shopping experience, all persons will come back to the BBBS-MV office for gift wrapping and pizza. The event is expected to conclude by 5 pm.

The event is co-sponsored by Walmart and the Bettendorf Peace Officer’s Association.
