Yard Waste

The City of Bettendorf provides yard waste collection every week from April through December 1st on residents' garbage day. The City recommends that residents DO NOT bag yard waste. Yard waste includes grass clippings, leaves, and garden waste. Disposing of yard waste can be accomplished by using a backyard composter or leaving grass clippings on the grass. This recommendation includes mulching of leaves.
Yard Waste Collection Fee:
Every yard waste bag requires a $1.60 yellow sticker. Stickers can be purchased at local grocery stores, convenience stores, garden centers, City Hall or the Public Works building. There is NO CHARGE to collect bundled tree trimmings and branches.

Set-Out Time:
All materials must be set out by 7:00 am on the regular collection day.
     -  Yard waste must be placed in kraft paper bags
     -  Each yard waste bag cannot weigh more than 50 pounds
     -  All tree trimmings and branches must be bundled with twine and rope, and not weigh more than 50 pounds per bundle
     -  Branches must be no longer than five (5) feet
     -  Branches must be no larger than six (6) inches in diameter
     -  Bundles should be no more than 18 inches in diameter
The City offers nine (9) weeks every year when residents do not need to put yard waste stickers on their paper yard waste bags.
NO STICKER WEEKS: April 1st - April 12th and October 28th - December 6th, 2019
Residents may also take their yard waste to the Davenport Compost Facility, 2707 Railroad Avenue, Davenport, Iowa
No charge weeks at Davenport Compost: April 1 - 14 and October 28 - December 8, 2019

No Burning Ordinance:
The burning of leaves and other yard waste is prohibited by city ordinance.
