Instructions for Online Recruitment

Purpose

This page serves as an instructional guide for applicants to apply for jobs on the City of Bettendorf website.

Applying for a Job on the City of Bettendorf Website

From the left navigation menu on the Careers page under the Human Resources Department, select Job Postings (ICIMS)

Upon clicking the Job Postings (ICIMS) you will be redirected to the City of Bettendorf's applicant tracking system welcome page. Several tools on the welcome page will help you search for job opportunities with the City of Bettendorf and share your resume. Select submit your resume to share your resume without applying for a specific position. Click view all open positions to browse all current job openings. Use the search bar to find specific job postings using a keyword search. Use the job listings filters, job category filter and job location filter, to narrow your search.

Completing the Job Application

Select the job you wish to apply for by clicking on the job title under the job listings page.

Click Apply for this job online to begin the job application process.

If you do not already have a username and password, the website will prompt you to create one. Follow the prompts to create your username and password. 

If you have a username and password, the website will prompt you to log in. 

First, you will review your candidate profile, where you will enter updated information about yourself and your resume. Resumes can be uploaded to your candidate profile in two ways: 

1. Connecting to your Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, or Microsoft Account. 
2. Uploading your resume from your computer, Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive. 

Tip: Be sure to keep your resume and contact information current.

Next, you will be asked to answer any job-related candidate questions. Answer the questions you see and click Submit

Next, you will be asked to answer Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action questions. We are required to compile the information for statistical purposes in order to comply with certain federal regulations relating to Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action requirements. The information you provide is strictly on a voluntary basis, and the content of the information will not affect your eligibility for employment. Likewise, if you choose not to provide this information it will not affect your eligibility for employment in any way.

For the Gender information, you may select Male, Female, or opt-out. For the Race information, you will select Hispanic or Latino, White, Black or African American, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander, Asian, American Indian or Alaska Native, Two or More Races, or opt-out

Then click Submit

Next, you will be prompted to complete job-specific questions. Answer the questions you see and click Submit

Next, you will be prompted to complete the Application for Employment. Complete all of the fields highlighted yellow and any additional information you would like to provide. 

Tip: The more information you provide on your application, the easier it is for the human resources team or the hiring manager to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications of the job.

Finally, to complete your application, electronically sign the Application for Employment by checking the box next to Signature of Applicant and clicking Submit
