Stolen Vehicles, Accident, Arrest by Bettendorf PD

On Monday, August 17, 2020 at 4:08 a.m., a 2014 Ford Taurus was reported stolen from the 3500blk of Oakwood Drive, Bettendorf. There also was a 2015 Honda Odyssey minivan that was accompanying the stolen Ford Taurus from Bettendorf when it fled the scene that was later discovered to have been stolen from Davenport earlier in the evening from the 4800blk of Fairhaven Ct. While Bettendorf officers were checking the area, a patrol officer located both stolen vehicles northbound on Utica Ridge Road.  When the Bettendorf officer tried to stop the stolen vehicles, both vehicles fled. The stolen Honda minivan pulled into the shopping plaza on Utica Ridge Rd. in Davenport trying to get away and crashed into Bad Boyz Pizza, 5266 Utica Ridge Rd. The stolen Ford Taurus continued northbound on Utica Ridge Rd. and could not be relocated as of this time. The driver and sole occupant of the stolen Honda minivan from Davenport was taken into custody and charged with the following charges.

Burglary 1st Degree (Class B)

Theft 1st Degree (Class C)

Theft 2nd Degree (Class D)

Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree (Class D)

Felon in Possession of a Firearm (Class D)

Eluding While Participating in a Felony (Class D)

Burglary to a Motor Vehicle (Aggravated Misdemeanor)

Attempted Burglary 3rd Degree (Serious Misdemeanor)

Failure to Maintain Control

The defendant was identified as Kpehe K. Selli (age 17), from Davenport, who was a convicted felon and had been adjudicated as an adult. He was transported directly to the Scott County Jail due to the seriousness of the charges. The investigation is ongoing.
