Robbery at Bettendorf Bank

On April 18, 2019 at 10:02 a.m. Bettendorf Police Officers were dispatched to a bank robbery that occurred at U.S. Bank, 3120 Middle Road in which a handgun was displayed.  As various marked and unmarked Bettendorf police units responded to the general vicinity and were given updated information as to the possible whereabouts of the suspects, a Bettendorf Detective observed a subject throwing suspicious items into a dumpster in the area of Tanglefoot Lane and Golden Valley Drive. The subject then got into the passenger seat of a vehicle, which then drove off continuing on Golden Valley Drive. A felony traffic stop was conducted in the 900blk of Golden Valley Drive and the driver and passenger were taken into custody without incident seven minutes after the bank robbery had occurred at 10:09 a.m.  During the subsequent investigation and search warrants being obtained evidence was gathered linking both subjects to the bank robbery today at the U.S. Bank. Upon further investigation there was evidence obtained linking the passenger to another bank robbery that had occurred in Bettendorf on March 23, 2019 at approximately 12:52 p.m. at IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union, 2839 AAA Ct.
