Sewer Maintenance

Sewer Maintenance staff is responsible for maintenance, inspection, and repairs of the sanitary sewer collection system that conveys sanitary sewage to the Water Pollution Control Plant in Davenport through a 28E Agreement between the Cities Bettendorf, Davenport, Riverdale and Panorama Park.  Our collection system includes over two hundred ten 210 miles of sanitary sewer ranging in size from 6" to 72", and over 4,860 manholes.  The City is also responsible for the maintenance and inspection of three (3) sanitary lift stations.

Residents of Bettendorf are required to connect their homes and businesses to this system. Property owners are responsible for the connection line that runs from the the house or business to the nearest city sanitary sewer collection main. Owners are responsible for the maintenance of that line, including the actual connection at the City's collector line. The City provides regular cleaning and maintenance services of the City's collection system only and makes no warranty or guarantee for the viability of the overall collection system.

Sanitary service charges are based on the consumption of water and are billed quarterly by the City's Finance Department. Questions on charges should be directed to the Finance Department at (563) 344-4114 during normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
