Bettendorf Fire Responds to Structure Fire at Sivyer Steel Castings, LLC

Bettendorf Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire at 9:04pm on September 18^th, 2023 at Sivyer Steel Castings, LLC, located at 225 33^rd Street.

The fire started inside the structure and quickly spread throughout the inside. The column of smoke from the fire could be seen as engine and truck companies were responding to the scene. Heavy fire was noted inside the structure and through the roof as the first company arrived.

There were workers inside the building at the time of the incident, but all of them were able to evacuate the building and were accounted for by management personnel on scene.

Several agencies were requested to assist in getting the fire under control and eventually extinguished including: Rock Island Arsenal Fire Department, Davenport Fire Department, LeClaire Fire Department, Riverdale Fire Department, Moline Fire Department, and Medic EMS.

Electrical and gas services were isolated to the building by MidAmerican Energy.

The State Fire Marshal Office was contacted by Bettendorf Fire to assist with the investigation, which is currently ongoing. Bettendorf Fire crews remained on the scene through the night and will hold the scene until the investigation can be completed.

No injuries from employees or fire personnel have been reported at this time.
